Catching Up! cont.

'Tis the season....to get the flu!!! It started December 23rd with Caden and trickled on down to the rest of us. Kind of put a damper on Josh's visit since we were so busy taking care of each other, but as long as we were together it was good for me! The day after Josh arrived we went to the Havana Christmas Tree Farm and got the perfect Frasier Fur tree on sale!! I'll have to say, it is my favorite tree i have decorated so far! We spent the 23rd at my Dad's for presents with Paul, Alyssa and Lilyanna. Pop also had come into town and mom and Joel came over too! We had a nice Christmas Eve Eve dinner with all of them and exchanged a couple of gifts. I worked on Christmas Eve for a couple of hours and then we went to the mall to get Caden's first picture with Santa! It went really well and the Santa looked great! We went to Dad's house again after that and enjoyed a yummy steak Christmas Eve dinner and exchanged gifts with Dad and Pop! It was a lot of fun, and I was so happy to be able to spend some time with Pop! Christmas day I took of work! We woke up when Caden did, I think about 7:00 am and opened his stocking and gifts from Santa and mom and dad. Just the three of us. Mom got up later and we headed to IHOP for a Christmas breakfast! Yum! We decided on chili for our Christmas meal since we had already had a feast and Joel and Meredith had also eaten at her moms. We prepared everything for them to come over. We had so much fun watching the kids open their presents and play together. Even though Caden was sick, he had a great first Christmas!

We didn't end up doing anything for New Years Eve since Josh was then quite sick. We watched movies and stayed in. We tried to visit as many friends and family as we could while he was here and before I knew it, it was time for him to leave!

January has just flown by! Caden turned 7 months on the 7th. He is sitting like a pro and scoots on his booty. It is quite possible the cutest thing I have ever seen. We are working on crawling and pulling up. Won't be much longer until he's all over the place! He now weighs 20 pounds, not sure of his height, but he is the exact same weight as his bitty cousin Kaisley. Paul had a Birthday on the 17th and Josh just had his *golden* Birthday turning 27 on the 27th! We sent him a little care package, but we missed spending it together. Caden went to his first party. Brice at his school turned 2! We then travelled to Valdosta to visit new baby Adalynn. She looked so tiny next to Caden!

We are impatiently waiting to hear where we will be stationed. We are hoping to find out this week, but I'm not holding my breath! I will be sad to be saying goodbye, but excited for a fresh start and new adventure. I will really miss Caden's school and don't think I will find anywhere that will compare! All of the uncertainties are quite stressful, so once we find out this location and date, I can take a sigh of relief and start making plans! This includes planning Caden's first Birthday! We will either be having it early before we leave, or we will be having it close to his birthday if we don't get stationed too far away. We will just come to Tallahassee for the weekend! Can't believe I am already talking first birthday! Yikes!

Kaisley Reese my spunky little niece is turning 1 on the 4th and her party is this Saturday the 2nd! She is a spitfire and I can't wait to celebrate the Queen of the Castle!! She has brought so much joy to my life in this short little time! We are excited to party hard and Josh is coming! I am so happy he will be able to share this milestone with all of us!! I sure will miss this little girl when we leave, and I am sure Caden will miss her too since he sees her every day at school!

Stay tuned for all my picture posts! Starting with Josh's Graduation from BMT for the Air Force up to Kaisley's 1st Birthday!! =o)

Catching Up!

I have a ton of catching up to do since I have been slacking on my blog these days! I will talk about each event up until now, and then I will post separate blogs with just pictures from those events. Soooo here it goes.....

Early December we had a great trip to Texas. Mom and I took turns driving. We made it all the way in 14 hours! Caden did so great on the trip. He slept most of the time, and we would make stops every couple of hours to stretch, do diaper changes and prepare bottles. It was smooth sailing and even Bella came along. The first day there was the Airman's Run bright and early at 7:00 am. We saw all of the flights on their run doing their jodies (little songs the sing along the way). We saw Josh twice during the run, and it was really exciting! A couple of hours later it was time for the Coin Ceremony. I felt like a mess since it had been "misting" all morning and we were outside. I guess most everyone there felt the same! There Ceremony was awesome and just hearing Proud to be an American play over the loud speaker during the Ceremony brought tears to my eyes. I am so proud of my husband! After it was over, we were able to "tap out" our Airman. In other words, they have to stand at attention looking straight ahead until their friend or family member touches them. Well being that Josh and I love to joke I walked up right in front of him and just stood there and smiled. I didn't touch him, so he touched me! Haha! He just couldn't stand it. It was pretty funny. They first hug after 8 1/2 felt great! Mom was there to capture the moment, which is even better. The rest of the day Josh had Base Pass, so we just went around to the stores and such on base. Travis and Katie (Josh's brother and sister-in-law) arrived that night.
Day 2: We got up early and had breakfast at the hotel with Travis and Katie. Then it was off to the Base again for the Graduation Parade. All of the guys looked so good in their dress blues. Especially my husband! It was neat hearing them do the Airman's Creed and seeing them all march in step perfectly. After the parade we went downtown San Antonio to the Riverwalk. It has a lot of little shops and restaurants on either side of a river. We spent the day there and had a great time.
Day 3: Travis picked Josh up at the Base and we headed to the San Antonio Zoo. The Zoo there is pretty big and Caden loved looking at the animals. After to Zoo we went back to the Riverwalk and had a great steak dinner. Josh ate a whole piece of chocolate cake after his meal and it was huge!
Day 4: They only had Base Pass on this day so we spent some time looking at the airplanes, buying him supplies and browsing the BX. We had lunch at a BBQ place on base. We said our goodbyes to Travis and Katie since they had to head back to Rhode Island. Before we knew it, it was time to say goodbye to Josh....it was kind of sad, but I knew I would see him in two weeks for Christmas break. We were on our way back to Tallahassee and he was headed to Mississippi. We stopped in Louisiana on the way home since we left late, and we arrived home the next afternoon.

All in all we had a fantastic trip, and Caden did so great the entire time!!

To be continued.....

6 Months!

Caden celebrated his half birthday while we were in Texas for Josh's graduation from basic training (separate blog to come).

He's growing so fast these days! At his check up he was 17lbs 8oz and 26 in long! He's such a sweet baby and perfect in every way. He loves going backwards in his walker and "dancing" to music!!
